Rylan rained down harsh punches on the boy who dared to lay a hand on his demon girl. Each blow landed with brutal force, and the boy, now bloodied and beaten, could only look up at Rylan through blurred vision. He didn’t dare fight back, knowing all too well the consequences of crossing the prince. His other mates stood frozen, their eyes wide with terror, unwilling to intervene. Rylan was a force they could not reckon with.
Azura watched the scene unfold before her, her heart pounding in her chest. The intensity of Rylan's rage was terrifying, and she knew if he continued, the boy would die. “Stop it, Rylan!” she shouted, her voice sharp with desperation.
But her words seemed to only fuel his fury. His punches became even more savage, the sound of knuckles against flesh echoing in the air. Unable to bear it any longer, Azura screamed again, “Rylan, stop!”
He ignored her plea, instead turning to grab the other two boys who hadn’t dared move. With terrifying strength, he slammed their heads together, the sickening crack of bone breaking under the impact making Azura gasp. Blood flowed from their skulls, but Rylan was far from done.
The last boy tried to flee, but he didn’t get far. In the blink of an eye, Rylan was on him, fists flying as he kicked and punched with unrelenting fury. “Stop it, Rylan! STOP NOW!” Azura yelled, rushing forward to pull him away.
“Let me kill him,” Rylan growled, his voice low and menacing, but she grabbed his arm, her hands trembling as she tried to drag him away from the unconscious body on the ground.
"You can't kill people for me, Rylan!" she shouted once they were a safe distance away, now standing at the edge of the basketball court. Her breath came in ragged gasps, her heart racing as she tried to make sense of what had just happened.
Rylan’s eyes were wild as they locked onto hers, his jaw clenched and his fists still curled tight, bloodied from the fight. He pulled her closer, his grip on her arm unyielding as she tried to push him away. “I’ll kill every single person who dares to touch you,” he growled, his voice dripping with darkness.
Azura could feel the danger radiating from him, his twisted expression sending a chill down her spine. She gulped, feeling trapped between his overpowering presence and her own warring emotions. “You heard me,” he repeated, pulling her so close that their noses nearly touched, his breath hot against her lips.
Her heart stammered in her chest, and she instinctively turned her face to the side, trying to distance herself from the overwhelming intensity of his proximity.
Rylan didn’t like that. His hand shot up, grabbing a fistful of her long hair, twisting it tightly in his grip. Her eyes widened, confusion and shock flooding through her as she met his gaze. Before she could react, his lips crashed down on hers, claiming her in a kiss that was as fierce as the storm raging inside him.
Azura’s mind spun, her hands pushing weakly against his chest as the kiss deepened, her heart torn between resisting and surrendering to the dark, dangerous pull that only he seemed to have over her.
Azura’s breath caught in her throat when Rylan bit down on her bottom lip, a silent command that she couldn't resist. Her lips parted instinctively, allowing his tongue to invade her mouth, dominating every inch of it with raw intensity. He lashed against her tongue, claiming it, sucking it, as if he was proving a point, reminding her who was in control.
A soft, involuntary moan escaped her, barely audible, but enough for him to hear. It only seemed to drive him further, his grip tightening around her waist as her knees weakened, turning to jelly beneath her. She clung to him, her arms wrapping around his neck for support as the kiss deepened, a fierce and passionate battle that left her head spinning.
Her mind screamed at her to stop, to pull away, but her body betrayed her. She melted into his touch, feeling the magnetic pull between them intensify with every second. The walls she had carefully built around her heart were crumbling, and she could feel herself being drawn deeper into the dark, dangerous love that he offered. And despite everything, she was powerless to resist.
The sharp ring of the bell snapped Azura out of the intoxicating haze Rylan had cast over her. Startled, she pushed herself away from him, her heart racing for more reasons than just the kiss.
"Goddess, no—my attendance!" she exclaimed, her hands flying to her head in utter disbelief. Panic filled her eyes as she realized the dire consequences of missing yet another class. She was already on the verge of being debarred this season, and on top of that Ms. Dyana would surely have her neck if she found out about Rylan’s violent outburst on her behalf.
Rylan, still breathing heavily from the heat of their kiss, frowned at her sudden concern. “Attendance? You’re worried about that now?” His voice was thick with frustration, his chest rising and falling as he struggled to regain control.
Azura shot him a look of desperation. "You don’t get it! Ms. Dyana will kill me if she finds out—about this, about the fight. You just..." She sighed heavily, glancing toward the direction of the institute, where she should’ve been, dreading what would come next. "I’m so screwed."
Rylan, still frustrated, clenched his jaw but then softened when he saw her distress. “I’ll handle it,” he said firmly, stepping closer. “No one will touch you, not even Ms. Dyana.”
Azura shook her head. “You can’t just beat everyone who stands in my way, Rylan,” she muttered, trying to hide the mess of emotions that his presence always stirred inside her.
Azura's mind raced as she walked, her heart pounding not from the adrenaline of what had just happened, but from the lingering heat that still coursed through her body. The kiss had been… overwhelming, consuming. She could still feel the imprint of his lips on hers, the way he had taken control, dominating her in a way that left her breathless.
“How was the kiss?” Rylan's voice cut through her thoughts, laced with that familiar smirk. She blushed, quickening her steps, trying to ignore the way her skin tingled just thinking about it.
But Rylan wasn’t done. “Wanna do it again? It can get better with time if we practice regularly. What do you say, demon girl?” His teasing tone was impossible to ignore.
She stopped in her tracks, her breath catching in her throat. She turned around, her eyes meeting his, and for a moment, she was lost. He stood there, looking more than just handsome—he was irresistible, the kind of temptation she couldn’t outrun. Every logical thought vanished from her mind. Her brain short-circuited, unable to process anything except the magnetic pull between them.
Her feet moved on their own, betraying her, and before she knew it, she was in front of him again. This time, it was she who closed the distance, pressing her lips to his in a fervent, hungry kiss. There was no hesitation, no holding back, just raw desire surging through her.
Rylan didn’t wait—he responded instantly, pulling her closer as if he had been waiting for her to make the move all along. His hands found their place around her waist, deepening the kiss with a slow intensity that made her knees weak.
This kiss was different. It wasn’t just desperate—it was deliberate, filled with a passion she hadn’t allowed herself to acknowledge before. And for the first time, Azura let herself give in, letting the walls she had built around her heart crumble in his arms.
